Our Approach
Pulse Direct, a trading name of EM Direct Ltd, acts as an independent business energy consultant, helping UK businesses review and arrange fixed gas and electricity contracts.
We believe in being clear and transparent about how we are paid.
Do Customers Pay Us Directly?
No.
Pulse Direct does not charge customers a separate upfront consultancy fee.
Our service is provided without direct charges payable by the customer.
How We Are Paid
When a business chooses to proceed with an energy contract arranged through Pulse Direct, our remuneration is usually included within the unit rates agreed as part of the energy contract by way of a small uplift.
This means:

Our commission is built into the contracted unit rate presented to the customer

Customers are not invoiced separately by Pulse Direct

The uplift may vary depending on supplier, contract type, contract term, and estimated usage levels
Our commission is typically only a small percentage of the overall energy contract value.
Because commissions are based on projected future consumption, they are estimated amounts and may vary depending on actual usage.

For example:
A supplier may offer an electricity unit rate of 30.0 pence per kWh Pulse Direct may apply an uplift of 0.8 pence per kWh The final contracted rate presented to the customer would therefore be 30.8 pence per kWh Our remuneration is calculated by multiplying the uplift by the estimated total energy consumption over the contract term.
Supplier Payments
Payment terms for remuneration vary between suppliers, and suppliers may adjust payment arrangements over time.
In some cases, suppliers installing new meters may instead pay a fixed commission per contract.
Our Independence
We work with a range of energy suppliers and aim to present suitable options based on the information provided by each customer.
While we earn remuneration through uplift and supplier payments, our role remains to help businesses compare available options and make informed decisions.
